Hey guys! I’m so sorry that it
took me forever to share with you my New York street style, so I hope you will
forgive me haha. If you didn’t forget, a few months ago, I went to New York. Due to the bad weather, I had no chance to shoot some of my style that I wore while
being there. Thank goodness it got warmer
and melted by the time my friend Melanie came to New York too. She was so awesome, and
offered me to shoot the outfits that I wanted to share with you guys.
You definitely need to check her blog and
social media under Labellemel31. As I promised on my instagram, I would like to
introduce you to Minan Wong brand. I mentioned in my previous blog post that I met designer Mimi Wong in New York. She told me a bit of the story of
her brand. She uses eco-friendly fabrics like organic cotton, recycled wool and
recycled PET. All her collection is made in the US to support the local economy. Wow,
she is amazing! How many brands are made in United States today? Not so many! After
checking out her collection, and even trying on some pieces, I came to the conclusion that her collection is very elegant, classic and very high end. Who doesn't love that combo? You can wear her clothes for work, business meetings,
fashion weeks, etc. Mimi was so nice and let me try some pieces to create
some content for my blog. Here we go! I know winter is over, and snow melted a
while ago, but better later than never right? ;)
After Melanie arrived to my hotel, I quickly started changing outfits for the shoot. For my first outfit, I’m wearing a Jill Sander Shirt (that I got at a sample sale for only $50 when I met with other fashion blogger babies) along
with a Minan Wong mesh dress that could be perfect for a wedding, ball, graduation event or any fancy occasion. On my instagram, I got many
compliments about the lace detail, which is also the best part of the
dress in my opinion. Since it was quite chilly in NYC that day, I wore my new Bernando 1946 rain boots. They are super cute and kept my feet dry. The other day, I was
wearing sneakers and stepped in a huge puddle, which was a huge mistake.
Afterwards, I never took off my rain boots. To stay warm, I wore one of my
oversized coats that I rarely had a chance to wear before, because in California the weather is pretty moderate all year.
As for my second outfit, I’m wearing a Minan Wong classic dress that fits me just perfectly. I thought that over knee boots and a basic coat
would combine nicely together. Sadly, I didn’t bring any accessories with me. I
felt like something was missing, maybe a silky scarf? To give an extra color
boost, I wore my new Jill Sander jacket underneath, which I got at the sample
sale too. Minan Wong is for women who know how to dress up and are open to
mix things up by trying something new. Let me know which one is your favorite!
