Hi, my sweet readers. Ready for my travel stories? If yes, sit comfortable and start our journey to mysterious Romania. Romania was always on my travel list, like many other countries in the world. I never knew what to expect when I travelled there, and to be frank, I ended up in love with Romanian nature and people.
Since we didn't have so much time in Romania, we tried to do our best, and got chance to see not only Bucharest, but also visited Brasov and Bran. I hope that we will return and learn more about Romanian culture in the future.
What main attractions you should visit while you are there:
Old Town. Definitely start your tour in Bucharest from the old town. It is definitely a delightful walk and you can find a ton of cute cafes. Enjoy the mix of architecture!
Palace of Parliament. Definitely book a visit to Palace of Parliament. Sadly, you can't take pictures with a professional camera inside Parliament unless you pay a fee. I believe it was about 10-15 Euro (don't really remember). You can still use your phone to take photos.
National History Museum. We actually didn't realize how big this museum would be. Plus, when we visited, they had an extra exhibition dedicated to World War I.
Stavropoleos Monastery. It is definitely a must-see church in Bucharest. The church was built in the 17th century and was demolished at the end of 19th century. Make sure to wear proper clothes out of respect. Early in the morning, you can enjoy the garden while most tourists are asleep.
Try some local bakeries. I tried some eclairs at French Revolution. They were not only instagramable, but also super delicious. Also, Mara Mura has a nice interior and delicious cakes.
Carturesti Carusel. It is probably the most popular place in Bucharest, not only for shoppers, but also for it is beautiful insta spot. It has a big selection of books, and on the top floor, you can enjoy a cup of coffee. The interior view from the cafe is incredible.
Pasajul Victoria. You can find not only colorful umbrellas at the restaurant, but also a hidden underground bar. Sadly, when we went there, it was closed.
Antiquities Market at Bazaar. If you are looking for some unique hand made or vintage items, visit the antiquities market that is located in old town. You can't miss it.
Origo Coffee Shop or at Social 1. Another instagramable spot in Bucharest is a local famous coffee shop. Beside the unique design, you can enjoy the best coffee in town there. In case you are going to the Palace of Parliament, make sure to stop at Social 1 cafe. It is a really cool place and offers delicious food.
Get breakfast or dinner at Caru Cu Bere. Another amazing historical place (tourists love it). You definitely need to stop at Caru Cu Bere. If you are planning a dinner, make sure to reserve a table. Breakfast is the best option if in a rush, because no one is there, and you can enjoy the entire place. We noticed Romanians are not early-risers!
Dinner at Cyros. It is probably another favorite food spot of mine in Bucharest, not only for the budget-friendly meals, but also for the cute interior.
